POLICIES & PROCEDURES
Student Expectations:

Music is supposed to be enjoyable! The children are expected to HAVE FUN in their lessons and in their time playing along at home.

Families are expected to arrive on time to each lesson 5 minutes before lesson for sign in and washing of hands.

Families are expected to treat him/herself, instruments, materials, and the teacher with respect.

Parents are encourage at be an active participant in each lesson.

Please refrain from bringing along unwell/sick children or family members to class.
Teacher Expectations:

The teacher is expected to attend every lesson on time and with all necessary materials.

The teacher is expected to explain things in a clear and understandable manner.
-
The teacher is expected to show respect for his/herself, the student, the instruments, and all materials.

The teacher is expected to modify/adapt and prepare material that is appropriate to the age, ability, and unique learning style of each individual student.

The teacher is expected to make each lesson enjoyable and rewarding.

The teacher is expected to teach the principles of music and instrument so that the student can gain the most out of their musical education.
Lesson Schedule:

Lessons are scheduled on a weekly basis in 1 hour increments for KIndergro classes and 30 minute increments for Keynotes Classes. All classes run with the school terms.

Once day/time is agreed upon by Phaedra’s Giggle & Groove and the family, that class will be reserved for your family and will be responsible for paying for that class upfront before commencing lessons.

Lessons are held only during school term.

Students will not be charged and refunded where needed for
lessons cancelled by Phaedra’s Giggle & Groove due to illness or inclement weather.
Communications:

All communication regarding lessons will be made via email, text and our Facebook page Phaedra’s Giggle & Groove.

I welcome parents to actively call, text or email for an update on their child's progress.
Lateness:
-
Families are expected to arrive to their lesson on time. Families arriving up to 10 minutes late may have the remainder of their scheduled lesson.

Please be considerate of the other families when arriving.
Cancellations:
-
If your family cannot attend a lesson, can you please notify the Teacher at least 48 hrs in advance.

The teacher reserves the right to cancel a lesson for any reason. Missed lessons will be refunded or credited as required.

Typically no makeup lessons are offered. Please refer to the
cancellation policy for further information on missed lessons.
Termination Of Lessons:

Every child stops lessons at some point. Ideally termination of lessons would be a decision made thoughtfully and thoroughly between the families and myself. Discussion around the matter so there is a positive sense of closure.

One-month’s written notice from the student is required for termination of lessons. Email and/or written letter are acceptable forms of notice. In the event that the student discontinues lessons with insufficient notice, the student will be liable to pay costs for lessons not delivered during the notice period.
Lesson Rates:

Please understand that when committing to lessons, Phaedra’s Giggle & Groove is reserving a specific days/times for you that cannot be filled by another family. Therefore, you are not only paying for each lesson that occurs, but for that time slot.
Your lesson rate includes the following:

Allotted time for lessons.

Reservation of the assigned days/times of your lesson.

Knowledge/expertise of your teacher.
-
Teacher Preparation for lessons. I adapt/modify everything I do to meet the individual learning.

Needs/styles of each student in order to make sure each student has a successful and enjoyable experience.

A lesson that is engaging, fun, informative and allows the student to gain a lifelong love of music, means of expressing him/herself and the skills to successfully play your chosen instrument.

Insurance and Administration

Complimentary Music pack for each family upon initial enrollment.
Payments:

All class payments are to be made through our website and paid in full before lessons commence.
